The Essential Massage office is located in the Century 21 Building at the corner of Parham Road and Quioccasin Road within the Yes Chiropractic suite. Both offices share the reception area. Filtered water is available to all clients.
The massage room is private, quiet and located at the back of the suite next to the restroom. The table is covered in soft flannel sheets, fleece blanket and can be warmed to your desired temperature. Soothing lighting and relaxing music complete your experience. Clients have the choice of a light massage oil or lotion that is scented or unscented.
The client and therapist will discuss areas of focus and treatment goals before and after each session. A brief medical history will be taken before the client’s first visit. Download the Essential Massage Therapy Intake Form if you would like and bring it to your first visit.
Massage Techniques Provided:
- Swedish Massage – The use of gliding, kneading, friction, percussion or joint movements to promote relaxation and a decrease in pain.
- Deep Tissue – The use of deep muscle compression and friction to reach the deep portions of the thick muscles and individual muscle fibers and release long held patterns of muscle tension.
- Trigger Point – Deep finger pressure applied to a contracted or “knotted” points in the muscle to relieve pain and improve function.
- Pregnancy Massage – The massage table has an 11 position elevated backrest which will allow clients lay comfortably on their backs for the beginning of the massage, where the focus will be on the scalp, face, hands, arms, feet and legs. The client will then be positioned in a side-lying position for the remainder of the massage with focus on the neck, shoulders, back and hips.
